As a result of the developments in the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to make our symposium virtual, still on April 16th and 17th. However, Dr. Roopika Risam will do her keynote on July 28th at 3PM EST. If you would like to attend her talk, please RSVP on our Eventbrite registration.
This symposium will center the voices of a group of archives in Latin America and the Caribbean by providing a forum for stakeholders in the region to come together in conversation to share strategies and identify common areas of need. This steps outside the neoliberal model of post-custodial archiving and creates an opportunity for digital archiving to be driven by archives, libraries, and scholars in Latin America and the Caribbean. Recommendations for working with archives and libraries in the region will be formulated by these stakeholders based on the needs of these content producers and the particular challenges faced in their respective regions.
The project is funded by a CLIR Microgrant with generous support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
